Dan Burns

Dan Burns is an experienced executive in the cybersecurity industry, currently serving as the Investment Committee Chairman and Board Member at SYN Ventures since October 2020. Prior to this role, Burns held significant positions at Optiv Inc from January 2002 to October 2020, including Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and CEO, contributing to the growth of a leading cybersecurity solutions provider formed from the merger of Accuvant and FishNet Security. As co-founder and CEO of Accuvant from January 2002 to August 2015, Burns led a research-driven information security firm that provided a comprehensive suite of solutions for enterprise-class organizations. Dan Burns holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from San Jose State University and has also attended Iowa State University and Cabrillo College.
