Karen Skiles has been working in the field of customer service and training for over 40 years. Karen began their career in 1973 as a Customer Service Representative at Waters Corporation. Karen then moved to Millipore in 1981 as a Manager of Customer Service and Training. In 1998, they joined FPC of Fort Lauderdale as an Executive Recruiter. In 2007, they became the Instructor Manager at ITSM Academy, where they managed trainers, trainer scheduling, copyright, and distribution of Intellectual Property. In 2019, they joined DevOps Institute as the Instructor Relations and Learning Products Content Manager, Instructor Relationship Manager, and Instructor Advocate. In each role, they have been responsible for the quality, management, and release of learning products content, support of the worldwide instructor network, instructor profiles, monthly newsletters, conference training administration and support, and webinar administration, support, and moderating.
Karen Skiles attended Northeastern University from 1985 to 1987, completing the Women in Business Program. Karen obtained the DevOps Foundation certification from the DevOps Institute in August 2019, the Certified Agile Service Manager (CASM) certification from the DevOps Institute in January 2015, the ITIL Foundation certification from Loyalist Certification Services in April 2007, and the Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE) certification from Loyalist Certification Services.
