Evelyn Maris

Evelyn Maris is a seasoned professional in international development and humanitarian work, currently serving as the Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Cooperation at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland since February 2022. Prior to this role, Evelyn held key positions at Plan International from September 2017 to January 2022, including Deputy Director and Head of Projects and Funds. Experience also includes a tenure as Country Manager for the British Red Cross, focusing on partnerships in Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and South Africa, and as International Programme Manager for Save the Children UK. Evelyn's early career featured roles at GOAL Global in various capacities, culminating in the position of Country Director. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Gender, Globalisation and Rights from the University of Galway and ACCA certification in accountancy.
