Sarah Dooley

Sarah Dooley is an experienced diplomat currently serving in various capacities at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland, since January 2018, including roles as Deputy Head of Mission and Junior Diplomat, working on issues related to Russia, Ukraine, OSCE, and Central Asia. From February 2019 to September 2024, Sarah Dooley was the Deputy Head of Mission and Second Secretary at Ireland’s first resident Embassy in Jordan. Additional experience includes a position as an Austauschbeamtin (Seconded Diplomat) at the Auswärtiges Amt in Germany for a year and previous roles as a research assistant at the Institute of International and European Affairs and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, focusing on counter-terrorism and counter-extremism. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in International Relations from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from University College Dublin, along with studies in German Language and Literature at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
