Director Of Land Use And Design at Detroit Future City

Sarah Hayosh is an experienced professional in land use, design, and sustainability with a comprehensive background in various leadership and project management roles. Currently serving as the Director of Land Use & Design at Detroit Future City since October 2017, Sarah has previously held positions such as Stormwater Innovation Manager and Director of Land Use & Sustainability within the same organization. Prior to that, Sarah worked as a Designer & Project Manager at the Detroit Collaborative Design Center and co-founded Keep Growing Detroit, where design skills were applied from January 2013 to September 2017. Additional experience includes roles at the Metropolitan Design Center, SmithGroupJJR, and as a research assistant across multiple organizations. Sarah holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, a certificate in Sustainable Development and Resource Management from the Institute for Central American Development Studies, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan.

Mission: Through the shared vision of the Strategic Framework, Detroit Future City (DFC) is committed to advancing the quality of life for all Detroiters. Who We Are: DFC is a nonprofit charged with catalyzing implementation of the DFC Strategic Framework, a 50-year vision for the City of Detroit developed with input from more than 100,000 Detroiters. Our role is to steward equitable implementation of the recommendations made in the Strategic Framework through providing access and information to Detroiters, informing and guiding decision-makers’ initiatives and projects, and the coordination of a multitude of stakeholders.
