Cynthia M. James

Cynthia M. James has extensive work experience in the field of information security and networks. Cynthia M. currently holds the position of VP, Information Security at DFCU Financial, a role they have been in since 2021. Prior to this, they served as the VP Networks & IT Security from 2012 to 2021 and as the VP, Networks and User Services from 2002 to 2012. Cynthia also has experience as an IT Manager, Voice & Data Networks from 1998 to 2002, as an Advanced Systems Analyst from 1997 to 1998, as a Senior Technical Support Specialist from 1992 to 1997, and as a Senior Computer Operator from 1988 to 1992. In addition to their work at DFCU Financial, Cynthia also has experience at Cuda Coaching & Consulting, where they served as the Head Coach from 2019 to present and as a Cyberneticist from 2015 to 2018.

Cynthia M. James has pursued education and certifications that span a range of fields. In 1994, they enrolled at Davenport University, where they studied Business Administration and Management until 1997. After a long gap in formal education, in 2019, Cynthia completed the Coach Training Program at iPEC Coaching. Cynthia M. also obtained the Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) certification from iPEC Coaching in November 2019. Moving ahead to 2020, Cynthia obtained the Certified Professional Coach (CPC) certification from iPEC Coaching in September. Cynthia M. also acquired the ICF Member Badge from the International Coaching Federation in February. Additionally, prior to their enrollment at Davenport University, Cynthia obtained certifications in the field of information security. In 2006, they became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)², and in 2008, they acquired the Certified Information Security Manager certification from ISACA.
