John Chapel - Pearch has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. John most recently worked at DFCU Financial as the Executive Vice President CFO, starting in September 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of CFO of Community Banking at Flagstar Bank from November 2015 to August 2020, where they achieved significant growth and transformation in financial reporting and team development. Before joining Flagstar Bank, John served as the Vice President - Finance & Strategic Planning Manager at FirstMerit Bank from December 2013 to October 2015. John also worked at Citizens Bank (which was acquired by FirstMerit Bank) as the VP and Line of Business CFO from April 2004 to December 2013. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Johnson Controls, MCN Energy Group, and Citizens Gas Fuel Company. Throughout their career, John has demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and driving growth and profitability.

John Chapel-Pearch completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law at The University of Toledo from 1985 to 1989. John further pursued higher education and obtained a Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College between 1997 and 1999, specializing in the same field of study.
