Andrew Katende

Andrew Katende has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Andrew is currently the Head of Business Technology at dfcu Bank, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Ericsson Tanzania as the Head of Operation Assurance, responsible for meeting managed services contractual deliverables and leading technical teams across East Africa. Andrew also worked at Ericsson Rwanda as the Operational Assurance Head for IN East, focusing on competence development, governance management, and operational excellence. At Ericsson Uganda, they served as a Service Engineer IN, leading MS delivery and driving operational excellence. Andrew has also held positions at Airtel Uganda, Zain Uganda, and Celtel Uganda Ltd., where they gained experience in IT strategic planning, billing and VAS management, and IN administration.

Andrew Katende has a diverse education history. Andrew attended Makerere University from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. In 2002, they pursued further studies at Makerere University and achieved a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science with a focus on Systems Administration. In 2006, Andrew attended APTECH, where they obtained a Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCA) certification in Redhat Systems Administration. That same year, they also attended Ericsson Education and received a degree in Charging Systems Administration, specializing in Charging System Operations. Additionally, they completed a program at Software Technologies, earning an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification in Oracle Database Administration in 2006. Finally, in 2007, Andrew attended Ericsson Education for a short period to gain expertise in Ericsson Multimediation Design and Administration.
