Paul Liu is a highly experienced technology professional currently serving as a Staff Engineer at DFINITY since December 2017, focusing on programming language research in the blockchain sector. Prior to this role, Paul worked at Intel as a Staff Research Scientist from 2010 to December 2017, specializing in programming languages, functional programming, and compiler optimization. Paul co-founded and held the position of CTO at GIME International Pte Ltd from August 2000 to August 2003, where the technology direction was centered on Massively Multi-user Online Game technologies. Additionally, from July 1999 to August 2000, Paul co-founded ID Star Communications, Inc. as CTO, specializing in Single Sign-On technologies and online secure payment methods. Earlier career experiences include consulting at KRIS Technologies, software engineering at Kent Ridge Digital Labs, and an internship at Netscape Communications. Paul holds a PhD in Computer Science from Yale University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore.
