Martin Ruskowski

Head Of Research Department Innovative Factory Systems at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI)

Martin Ruskowski has a diverse work experience in various companies and research institutions. Martin currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Technologie-Initiative SmartFactory KL e.V. since 2019. Prior to that, they were the Head of Research Department Innovative Factory Systems at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) starting from 2017. In the same year, they also became a Professor for Machine Tools and Control Systems at Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU).

From 2015 to 2017, Martin Ruskowski held the position of Vice President at KUKA Industries Group. Before that, they were the Director of Research and Development at Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik GmbH from 2011 to 2015. Martin also worked as the Manager of Applications, Research and Development at Instron Structural Testing Systems GmbH from 2008 to 2011 and as the Manager of Motion Control Software Development at Lenze Drive Systems GmbH from 2005 to 2008.

Martin Ruskowski completed their education in the field of engineering and automation. Martin attended Leibniz Universität Hannover from 1990 to 1996, where they obtained a Dipl.-Ing. degree in the fields of Elektrotechnik, Mechatronik, and Nachrichtentechnik. Afterward, they continued their studies at the same institution from 1996 to 2004, earning a Dr.-Ing. degree focusing on Technische Mechanik, Mechatronik, Robotik und Automatisierungstechnik. In addition to their academic qualifications, Martin Ruskowski also holds a certification as a Private Pilot PPL(A) obtained in August 2020 from the Badisch Pfälzischer Flugsportverein e.V.
