Michael Rutz Ll.m.

Michael Rutz, LL.M. has extensive work experience in the legal field. Michael started their career as a Syndikus at SoT in 2006 and worked there until 2011. Michael then joined Volksbank Trier eG as an In-House Lawyer for a year. In 2012, they worked as a Bankruptcy Lawyer at PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH for two years. In 2014, they had roles in Insolvenzrecht/Bankruptcy Law at both Kanzlei Ohr and RAe Lieberich & Kollegen. In 2015, they joined the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz GmbH (DFKI) and took on various roles, including Vertragsmanager, Geschäftleitung / Legal Department, Management and Acting Head of the Legal Department. As of 2018, they hold the position of Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Head of Legal at DFKI.

Michael Rutz, LL.M. began their education at Trier University of Applyed Sciences in 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in Wirtschafts- und Umweltrecht. Michael completed this degree in 2010. Following this, in 2010, Michael enrolled at the University of Hertfordshire to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in int. Bank- Finanzmarktrecht and int. Handelsrecht, which they completed in 2011. In addition to their formal education, Michael obtained a certification as a Patentreferent / Patentmanager from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena in December 2020.
