Alan Linning

Alan Linning serves as the Managing Director of Enforcement at the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) since July 2025, leveraging over thirty years of extensive expertise in legal, regulatory, and enforcement matters within global financial markets. Prior to joining the DFSA, Alan held prominent positions including Partner in Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Mayer Brown JSM from August 2017 to July 2025, Partner Head of the Disputes and Regulatory Group at Sidley Austin from July 2009 to July 2017, and Executive Director of Enforcement at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) from October 2001 to July 2006. Alan Linning earned an LL.B. (Hons) in Law from The University of Edinburgh, after completing education at Loretto School.
