Silvia Huber

Silvia Huber is a Senior Remote Sensing Specialist and Project and Proposal Manager at DHI since June 2011, where expertise lies in satellite image and data processing for hydrology, water quality, environmental assessment, and land cover mapping. Previously, Silvia served as a Remote Sensing and GIS Specialist at the European Environment Agency from May 2019 to June 2021, providing technical support for Earth Observation methods related to Land Cover and Land Use. Earlier positions include a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Copenhagen focusing on Early Warning Systems in Africa, and a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher role at Wageningen University within the HYPER-I-NET project. Silvia completed a PhD at the University of Zurich, with a dissertation on estimating ecologically relevant land cover variables from imaging spectroscopy, and holds a Master’s Degree in Geography from the same institution.
