Mahad Shamas

Mahaad Shammas serves as an Associate Professor and Chairperson of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Dhofar University since January 2008, having previously held roles as Assistant Professor in the same department. Courses taught include Environmental Engineering, Engineering Hydrology, Water and Wastewater Treatment, and various lab components. Prior experience includes a role as Deputy General Director at Carmeuse Majan LLC, focusing on mining and logistics from April 2015 to March 2017, and as a Senior Lecturer at Salalah College of Technology, where courses spanned environmental engineering and business studies. Mahaad Shammas has also worked at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, holding positions such as Environmental Expert and Director of Environment and Climate Affairs, with responsibilities in policy formulation and pollution control. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Land and Water Resources Engineering and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure, both from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
