Nigel Calcutt

Nigel Calcutt is a Professor at the University of California at San Diego since 1990, with extensive expertise in zoology, physiology, and pharmacology obtained through a B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham. As a co-founder of the Diabetes Research Connection since 2012, Calcutt has contributed to funding innovative diabetes research led by early-career scientists. Additionally, as co-founder of WinSanTor since 2011, Calcutt is involved in a biotech venture currently undergoing phase 1/2 clinical trials aimed at reversing diabetic neuropathy. Calcutt completed a fellowship in diabetic neuropathy at the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital from 1988 to 1990.
