Leonor Teles

Leonor Teles currently serves as the Director of Research at Nucleate Florida, overseeing the mapping of the Florida biotech ecosystem and collaborating internationally to produce ecosystem and impact reports. Teles holds the position of President-Elect for the Society For Biomaterials' National Student Chapter and is a Doctoral Candidate at the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, focusing on engineering porous biomaterial platforms for autoimmune therapies. Previous roles include teaching positions at the University of Miami and the University of Rochester, volunteer work as a Portuguese teacher, and leadership positions in GlobeMed and Engineers Without Borders. Teles has a strong academic background with a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
