Iain French is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in youth engagement and peer support. Currently serving as the Peer Support Manager for Type 1 services at Diabetes UK since October 2020, Iain oversees a UK-wide program that involves managing a team of 14 Youth Workers and Youth Coordinators. Prior to this role, Iain held various positions including Youth Coordinator at Diabetes UK, Youth Campaigning Programme Lead at Leonard Cheshire, and Volunteer Coordinator at Maryhill Integration Network. Additionally, Iain gained valuable experience in youth participation and research at the Mental Health Foundation and has held leadership roles at the GU Student Representative Council and GU LGBTQ+ Students Association. Iain holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education, Community Development, and Youth Work, as well as a degree in Politics and Social and Public Policy from the University of Glasgow.
