Romany Abskharon

Romany Abskharon is an experienced scientist currently serving as Scientist III at Diazyme Laboratories, Inc. since March 2023. Previously, Romany held the position of Senior Scientist in Cancer Immunotherapy at Fate Therapeutics Inc. from January 2023 to March 2023, focusing on the advancement of targeted therapies. Between 2018 and January 2023, Romany was a Project Scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles, where work involved applying structure-based design to address neurodegenerative diseases. Prior postdoctoral work was completed at the Van Andel Research Institute, focusing on nanobodies for prion disease research from September 2014 to January 2018. Romany obtained a PhD in Bioengineering Science with the greatest distinction from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, and also possesses a postgraduate degree in Structural Biology from UCLA. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Microbiology and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Microbiology from Assiut University.
