Michelle Alfa has extensive experience in the field of microbiology and medical device reprocessing. Michelle worked as a Consultant at AlfaMed Consulting since 2013, providing audits for research laboratories and offering educational workshops on microbiology and clinical microbiology. Michelle also provides expert advice on medical device reprocessing validation, healthcare surface disinfection, human factors in medical device reprocessing, and healthcare-acquired infections.

Prior to their role at AlfaMed Consulting, Michelle Alfa served as the Medical Director at Diagnostic Services of Manitoba starting in 2002, where they were responsible for overseeing medical services. Simultaneously, they held the position of Professor at the University of Manitoba, beginning in the same year. In this role, they conducted research projects focusing on optimizing the cleaning of narrow lumen medical devices and eliminating C.

Michelle Alfa completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology, General from the University of Manitoba from 1972 to 1975. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Medical Microbiology from UNSW from 1977 to 1979.
