Matthew Cox

Head Of Vacuum Group at DIAMOND LIGHT SOURCE LIMITED

Matthew Cox has a strong background in engineering and vacuum technology. Matthew started their career at vg scientific as a Development Engineer in 1984, and then moved on to oxford instruments as a Senior Engineer in 1991. In 2001, they joined Oxford Danfysik as an Engineering Manager, before eventually becoming the Head of Vacuum Group at Diamond Light Source in 2003.

Matthew Cox completed their education in Physical Chemistry at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 1982 to 1984, where they obtained a PostDoc degree. Prior to that, they pursued their studies in Chemistry and Physics at the University of Cambridge between 1976 and 1982, earning an MA and PhD.
