Walter Tizzano

Walter Tizzano is a seasoned Senior Mechanical Project Engineer at Diamond Light Source, with a career spanning from July 2014 to the present. In this role, Walter provides expert leadership in mechanical engineering for projects related to the injector systems of the Diamond facility, collaborating with both internal and external scientific and engineering staff. Responsibilities include project management including budget preparation, risk assessment, and team leadership, as well as producing technical specifications and supporting documents. Walter has a comprehensive background in mechanical engineering, earning multiple degrees, including a Master's degree from DTU - Technical University of Denmark and a Master's degree from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. Prior to the current position, Walter worked as a Mechanical Engineer at AnsaldoBreda (now Hitachi Rail).
