Senior Staff Production Engineer at Diamondback Energy

Victor O. Salazar has extensive work experience in the field of production engineering, particularly in the oil and gas industry. Victor O. began their career in 1988 at Petroleos de Venezuela, PDVSA, where they held various roles including Contract Administrator and Preventive maintenance supervisor. During their time at PDVSA, they also served as an Artificial Lift Engineer, Operations Engineer, and Production Optimization Supervisor, focusing on the diagnostics, optimization, and coordination of well operations under gas lift and ESP systems. Victor O. then joined APEX Petroleum Engineering in 2005 as a Senior Production Engineer, providing consultant services in completion, operations, and production engineering. Victor O. was additionally assigned as an Operations Engineer to Occidental Petroleum during this period. In 2011, Victor joined EP ENERGY as a Senior Production Engineer, specializing in the production and operation of unconventional oil shale wells in the Permian Basin. Victor O. provided support on logistic, design, and operation of artificial lift systems and executed workover projects to enhance asset value. Victor continued their career at Energen Resources Corporation in 2018 as a Senior Production Engineer until joining Diamondback Energy Inc in the same year as a Senior Staff Production Engineer.

Victor O. Salazar pursued their education at the Oklahoma State University from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Power Technology. Following this, they attended the Colorado School of Mines from 2002 to 2005, earning a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
