Fernando Pinilla

Fernando Pinilla is an accomplished editorial caricaturist, illustrator, writer, and speaker, currently working at Diario las Américas since August 2014. Fernando's accolades include the Pedro León Zapata Award for best caricaturist in Venezuelan media in 2014 and the GOLD AWARD for best editorial cartoon in 2019 from the National Association of Hispanic Publications. Prior to their current role, Fernando contributed to various esteemed publications including ESPN Magazine and multiple Venezuelan newspapers, gaining recognition for their humorous graphics and columns. Fernando studied illustration and graphic design under Carlos Galindo Sancho and Graterolacho from 2000 to 2003.
