At UCSF, they focused on understanding and developing drugs for metabolic disorders, primarily in diabetes, neurodegenerative, and kidney stone diseases. Neelanjan'sachievements include establishing an LC-HRMS-based metabolomics platform for metabolite and biomarker discovery in urolithiasis and engaging in multidisciplinary collaborations. At the Buck Institute, they developed mass spectrometry-based assays to study diseases related to aging and metabolism, specifically investigating the pathological consequences of elevated advanced glycation end-products.

During their time as a graduate student at Cornell University, Dr. Bose conducted research on the identification of small-molecule signals that regulate development in nematodes using techniques from analytical chemistry and chemical biology. Neelanjan further continued their studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry. Finally, they completed their highest level of education at Cornell University from 2008 to 2013, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
