Mindy Dickerson McKinley

Chief of Staff at Dickerson Bakker

Since Mindy was a child she has been involved in fundraising and sharing the gospel for Christ in one way or another. From three to twelve years old she was the principal character on “The Filling Station”, a television program aimed at teaching kids to “fill up on God’s Word.” Her summers were spent participating in mission presentations at various VBS programs and Christian camps. “The Filling Station” went on to earn 10 national awards–including an ACE award from the National Cable Television Association–the highest honor in cable television. Mindy credits her time with “The Filling Station” as her first experience in advancing ministry.

Mindy graduated from Indiana University where she studied Journalism and Business. She discovered and developed her penchant for fundraising through college, working at the IU Telefund. There she learned what ‘grassroots’ fundraising truly means and the importance of the ‘ask’, bringing alumni on board with their first donation.

Upon graduation, it was a natural fit for her to join her father, Clark Dickerson, as a member of the fund-raising team of Dickerson & Associates. She took quickly to the rigors of working with clients while managing the details and logistics of numerous campaigns. Throughout her career with Dickerson & Associates Mindy enjoyed writing and designing literature and materials, serving as writer/director/producer for campaign videos, and consulting for Feasibility Studies and Capital Campaigns.

With more than 20 years of experience, Mindy has represented the company at numerous national development conferences and conventions across the country, speaking on topics that range from “The Nuts and Bolts of Capital Campaigns” to “How to be successful in fundraising without having grey hair.”

As Chief of Staff, she enjoys building relationships and engaging new clients through sales and strategy. Her expertise is fundamental in overseeing the fine points associated with Feasibility Studies, Development Assessments, and Capital Campaigns.

Mindy is known for her creativity and her congenial can-do attitude. With more than fifteen years in the business, and a lifetime of experience, her history, and skills for fundraising make her a natural fit to serve the wide variety of DickersonBakker clientele.

Mindy and her husband Carl McKinley reside in Indianapolis with their four children.
