Chandima Samarasinghe

Chandima Samarasinghe has extensive work experience in the engineering industry. Chandima started their career as an Engineer at Hilti Sri Lanka in July 2007 and worked there until August 2009.

In 2009, Chandima joined Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC, where they held various roles. Chandima served as the General Manager - Engineering Projects for over 12 years, from 2009 to March 2022. In this position, they spearheaded two strategic business units, focusing on infrastructure projects and sales and marketing of engineering equipment and systems. Chandima was responsible for strategizing and implementing annual financial budgets and driving the business towards accomplishment through various avenues, systems, and procedures. Chandima also showcased expertise in business compliances, financial budgets, HR processes, project quality and risk management, and stakeholder compliances.

Recently, in April 2022, Chandima Samarasinghe was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC. This role demonstrates their leadership and extensive experience in the company.

Chandima Samarasinghe holds a B.Sc Engineering degree in Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. They also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, specializing in Management Accountancy from the University of Colombo. In addition, they have completed the Finalist program in Management Accountancy from the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Australia. Chandima has also received training in Board Practices from the Institute of Directors Sri Lanka, and in Organizational Leadership through the 3TPL program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
