Judge In Charge Of DIFC Digital Economy Court at DIFC Courts

Michael Black KC serves as the Judge in Charge of the DIFC Digital Economy Court and a judge of the DIFC Court of Appeal since July 2022. In addition to these roles, Michael Black is a Registered Foreign Lawyer at the Singapore International Commercial Court and holds several positions at various arbitration centers, including membership at the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Centre and the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre since November 2016. Michael Black is also a member of the ICC global Commission on Arbitration and ADR and has participated in the ICC Task Force on Emergency Arbitrator Proceedings since July 2015. Prior involvement with ICC UK included being a member of the Committee for Arbitration and ADR until March 2020.

Its mission is to uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality and to dispense equal justice according to the law and international best practices. The DIFC Courts comprises of the Small Claims Tribunal (SCT), Court of First Instance, and Court of Appeal.
