Itai Segall

Itai Segall is a seasoned software engineering leader with extensive experience in research and development. Currently serving as Director of Software Engineering for Canton Network at Digital Asset since July 2022, Itai focuses on enhancing the Daml smart contract language and the Canton interoperability protocol. Prior to this role, Itai held several key positions at Nokia Bell Labs, including Department Head for the Software & Data Systems Research Lab, where leadership involved managing interdisciplinary teams and driving advancements in multi-robot systems and machine learning. Additionally, Itai was the Site Leader for Bell Labs Israel, facilitating collaboration between local and global initiatives. Earlier career experience includes a role as a Research Staff Member at IBM Research Haifa Labs, focusing on software quality and testing methodologies. Itai holds a PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the Weizmann Institute of Science and a BA in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
