John Mathews

John Mathews has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple roles and companies. John is the Founder & CEO of Digital Carpenters since February 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Technical Officer at SMART Charts from March 2019 to April 2023. John also worked at Melon/DEPT as an Immersion Data Center Developer from February 2019 to February 2021, during which they successfully created a Bitcoin mining division, negotiated power deals, and designed a scalable system. John also held the position of Chief Innovation and Product Officer at Melon/DEPT from September 2017 to February 2020.

Before joining Melon/DEPT, John worked at Zebra Technologies, where they held multiple roles. John was an Agile Coach & Digital Delivery Lead from March 2015 to March 2017, where they focused on modernizing IT delivery processes. John then served as a Senior Manager, Web & Digital Strategy from October 2012 to March 2015, where they significantly grew the team and introduced agile principles. In their earlier roles at Zebra Technologies, they were a Manager, Web Strategy and Services from March 2011 to October 2012, and a Web Solutions Architect from October 2010 to March 2011.

John started their career at Manifest Digital as a Web Application Architect from October 2008 to October 2010. Here, they led the agency's first Java practice and worked closely with clients on digital marketing projects. Prior to that, they were a Senior Web Developer at Accenture from July 2006 to October 2008, where they led development teams and delivered digital solutions for various clients in different industries.

John'searliest work experience was as a Product Development Engineer at Texas Calculatem from March 2004 to May 2007. Here, John was involved in the development of real-time poker odds calculation software, handling various aspects from user experience mapping to deployment.
