Senior Creature Fx Artist at Digital Domain Holdings Ltd

Juan Carlos Delgado Gonzalez has a diverse work experience in the field of visual effects and animation. Juan Carlos began their career as a Pipeline Consultant at Quiros Animation, where they developed customizable setups for moving geometry and maps from Zbrush to Maya and created facial/body hybrid systems in MotionBuilder. Juan Carlos then worked as a Senior Character Cloth Simulator at Ilion Animation Studios and later as a Character Modeller and Motion Capture artist at Filmayer, where they collaborated with Spanish contemporary artist Javier de Juan on the pilot of their personal project "Monomaco".

Juan then joined Plural-Jempsa S.L /Catmandu Entertainment as a Simulation Supervisor, leading a team of artists and overseeing cloth and hair simulations for the film "Metegol". Juan Carlos continued their career at Trixter, first as a Senior Cloth Artist and then as an Fx Artist. At Trixter, they worked on various projects, including the film "The 7TH Dwarf", where they solved simulations and fixed cloth using Maya nCloth.

Juan also worked at Framestore as a CreatureFX TD, where they focused on cloth and hair simulations for characters in the film "Guardians Of The Galaxy". Juan Carlos utilized various software and plugins, such as Maya's nCloth and Framestore's custom deformers and nodes utilities. Juan Carlos then joined Grid bvba as a Cloth Senior Artist, responsible for running cloth and hair simulation shots in the production of "Asterix 'Le domaine des Dieux".

Juan's experience also includes working at Industrial Light & Magic as a Senior Creature TD, where they worked on shots solving muscle, skin, rigids bodies, cloth, hair simulation, and finalizing in the proprietary software Zeno for the film "Warcraft". Currently, they are working at Digital Domain 3.0 as a Senior Creature FX Artist, involved in various projects including "Black Widow", "Chaos Walking", and "Avengers: Endgame".

Juan Carlos Delgado Gonzalez studied Industrial Design at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 1991 to 1998.
