Dan Peterson has over 20 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity. Dan started their career as a self-employed IT security consultant at IT Works Inc. from November 2000 to August 2006. Dan then worked as an IT security consultant at the European Central Bank via contract with GFT from September 2006 to May 2012. After that, they joined Allstate as an IT Security Engineer from August 2012 to March 2013. Dan then worked at Serco as an IT Security Engineer from April 2013 to October 2017. Following that, they served as a Senior Cyber Defense Consultant (SIEM) at SECUINFRA GmbH from November 2017 to June 2018. Dan then worked as a Cyber Security Incident Responder at The Fountain Group from September 2018 to January 2019. Subsequently, they joined Tata Consultancy Services as a Cyber Security Analyst from January 2019 to November 2019. Currently, they are working at Digital Hands as a Security Analyst from November 2019 to the present. Throughout their career, Dan Peterson has gained extensive experience in various roles within the cybersecurity field.
Dan Peterson received a Master's Degree in Digital Investigation and Forensic Computing from University College Dublin from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1990 to 1995. Additionally, they have received several certifications including Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python from Coursera Verified Certificates in December 2013, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in August 2017, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC Certifications in May 2014, GIAC Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA) from GIAC Certifications in February 2017, GNFA - Network Forensic Analyst from GIAC Certifications in February 2017, and GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC Certifications in June 2012.
