Damian Rees is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social care and music composition. Currently serving as Programme Manager for Digital Health and Care Wales since October 2023, Damian leads the national development of digital solutions in social care and manages a portfolio of significant projects. Prior to this role, Damian held several positions in child protection and safeguarding, including Principal Officer for Safeguarding and Quality Assurance at City & County of Swansea, and Deputy Team Manager at Islington Council. Additionally, Damian has a long-standing career as a composer, writing music for various ensembles and choirs. Educationally, Damian holds multiple degrees, including a BMus in Composition from the Royal Academy of Music, an MSc in Social Work from London Metropolitan University, and various postgraduate certificates in strategic management and quality management in social work.

Digital Health and Care Wales is a national organisation delivering the digital health services needed for modern patient care in Wales. As a public service organisation working in partnership with NHS Wales organisations, we supply over 70 software services to users across NHS Wales and to other parts of the United Kingdom. We support doctors, nurses and other clinical professionals, helping them provide specialist care to patients in hospitals, GP practices and across the community. Our aim is that every task care professionals undertake is supported digitally, that records are created, held and accessed electronically and that all such services work seamlessly and commonly across organisations and sectors.
