Mikael Karnell

Mikael Karnell is a seasoned art professional with extensive experience in the gaming industry, currently serving as World Art Lead at DICE since August 2018, overseeing the single-player campaign for an upcoming Battlefield game and previously managing the environment art team for Battlefield 2042. In various roles at DICE, including Development and Production Craft Director and Development Director - Art, Mikael has demonstrated leadership in project management and artistic direction. Prior experience includes being Head of Games & Media at Access Creative College, where a £1M expansion was led, and serving as Studio Manager & Art Supervisor at PlaygroundSquad. Additionally, Mikael has freelanced in multiple creative areas and contributed as a Course Instructor for Gamedev Punks. Educational credentials include a Certificate in Experience & Game Development from PlaygroundSquad and an Upper Secondary Diploma in IT and Electronics.
