Dr. Eline Appelmans

Associate Vice President, Scientific Innovation at Digital Infuzion

Dr. Eline Appelmans has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fields. Dr. Eline is currently serving as the Associate Vice President of Scientific Innovation at Digital Infuzion since June 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health from 2019 to 2022. These roles included Director of Neuroscience Translational Research Partnerships, Senior Scientific Project Manager and Acting Program Manager for Neuroscience Research Partnerships, and Scientific Project Manager for Neuroscience Research Partnerships. In these roles, they demonstrated their expertise in managing global multi-million public-private partnerships focused on advancing scientific knowledge in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Before joining the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Appelmans worked at Fred Hutch from 2015 to 2019. Dr. Eline held positions such as Research Project Manager, Research Administrator, and Research Project Coordinator, contributing to HIV prevention, precision public health, and infectious disease-related projects. Additionally, they conducted pre-award activities for grant applications.

Furthermore, Dr. Appelmans has prior experience as a Medical Doctor and Graduate Student Research Affiliate at Beaumont Hospital from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Eline also worked as a Certified Health Care Assistant at Churchview Nursing Home in 2009. Dr. Eline'swork experience began with fundraising roles at Face to Face and Concern World Wide in 2008 and 2007 respectively. So, Dr. Eline Appelmans has a strong background in scientific project management, research coordination, and healthcare roles.

Dr. Eline Appelmans completed their education with a Bilingual International Baccalaureate Diploma from Jakarta Intercultural School in 2005. Dr. Eline then pursued their medical studies at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) from 2005 to 2011, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree. In 2010, they also obtained a BMedSci (HONS) from RCSI. Dr. Appelmans later pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Washington from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they obtained various certifications, including training in human subjects research and good clinical practice, CPR/AED, HIPAA, SharePoint for Site Owners, AEM, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
