Principal Software Engineer at Digital Insight Games

Andrew McDonald has a strong background in software engineering and has worked at various companies throughout their career. Andrew started their career as an Engineer at Philips Research Laboratories in 1993 before moving on to Bullfrog Productions Ltd. in 1997, where they served as a Library & Tools Engineer. At Bullfrog Productions, Andrew focused on developing and supporting the Bullfrog library, as well as implementing data packaging and virtual file systems. Andrew then joined Electronic Arts Los Angeles in 1999 as a Software Engineer and later became a Senior Software Engineer II. During their time at Electronic Arts, Andrew worked on various games, including the Command & Conquer series and the Lord of the Rings series, and managed a team of engineers. Andrew was responsible for creating automated scripts, monitoring server health, and integrating a Webkit wrapper into the Frostbite engine. In 2014, Andrew joined VC Mobile Entertainment, Inc. as a Principal Engineer, where they worked until 2018. Andrew then moved to FoxNext, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, Andrew joined Boundless Entertainment as a Principal Software Engineer before moving to their current role at Digital Insight Games (DIG) in 2022.

Andrew McDonald attended The Bishop's Stortford High School from 1984 to 1991. Andrew then went on to study at the University of Cambridge from 1992 to 1996, earning their MEng degree in Electrical and Information Sciences.
