Oskar van den Berg

Oskar van den Berg has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering. Oskar started their career at Digital Power in 2016, where they worked on various projects such as building data pipelines, optimizing performance, developing applications and APIs, and translating business requirements into technical architectures. Oskar also played a role in bringing the data engineering competence to the next level in the organization.

In 2017, Oskar worked as an Application Developer and Data Engineer at CleverLions, where they contributed to the development of SmartOcto, a web monitoring tool. Their responsibilities included backend programming, data analytics, and focusing on user experience.

In 2019, Oskar joined ASML as a Data Engineer, where they supported data scientists with the usage of the HPC cluster and participated in projects building data science solutions for internal customers. This involved building data pipelines, setting up CI/CD workflows, and data preparation.

Oskar joined De Nederlandsche Bank in 2020 as a Data Engineer, where they played a crucial role in starting up a new Advanced Analytics team. Oskar was responsible for building the team, implementing technical workflows, translating business requirements to technical architectures, building CI/CD pipelines, writing tests, and designing and building production systems.

Throughout their various roles, Oskar has demonstrated proficiency in Python programming and has utilized the Azure ecosystem, including ADO and Bicep as an Infrastructure-as-Code tool.

Oskar van den Berg began their education at Heerbeeck College, where they completed their high school education from 2003 to 2008. Oskar pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Popmusic at Rockacademie, Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten from 2009 to 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Oskar van den Berg also obtained several certifications. Oskar became a Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate through Microsoft in September 2020. In April 2019, they earned the certification for Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI from edX. Oskar also obtained certifications in topics such as implementing predictive analytics with Spark in Azure HDInsight, implementing real-time analytics with Hadoop in Azure HDInsight, orchestrating big data with Azure Data Factory, processing big data with Azure Data Lake Analytics, processing big data with Hadoop in Azure HDInsight, and processing real-time data streams in Azure, all from edX in February 2019.

Moreover, Oskar van den Berg acquired certifications in database management essentials from the University of Colorado System in February 2017. Furthermore, they completed various Coursera courses, including Introduction to Data Science in Python, Customer Analytics, Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python, Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), Python Data Structures, Using Databases with Python, and Using Python to Access Web Data, all in November 2016.
