Prior to that, Cameron spent eight years as an educator in Washington, D.C., public schools teaching 1st and 2nd grade, managing PK3-8th grade DCPS afterschool programs, and working for several nonprofits. He began his education career coordinating on-site early literacy intervention programming for Reading Partners as an AmeriCorps member, while also supporting Higher Achievement’s 5th-8th grade afterschool and summer programs. Cameron is passionate about developing and leveraging authentic relationships to drive responsive and effective change at the school, community, and national levels. Cameron earned a B.A. in political science from Furman University and recently completed his Master of Public Administration at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Policy.
