Ismail Zahidbhai Vandeliwala

Ismail Zahidbhai Vandeliwala has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies.

At Digital Turbine, they started as a Software Engineer in January 2016 and worked on development using Java and Spring Boot for backend microservices. Ismail Zahidbhai also created real-time data pipelines and streaming apps using Kafka, Kafka Streams, and Kafka Connect. Ismail later became a Software Engineer III, where they worked on converting Elixir-based services to Spring Boot Java applications and designing solutions to prevent the delivery of the same apps using Kafka Streams and DynamoDB. Ismail Zahidbhai also worked on production support issues. As a Software Engineer IV, Ismail worked with the architecture team to design API calls that deliver responses under 100ms using API Gateway, Lambda Function, and Managed Redis. Ismail Zahidbhai also worked on moving API calls from the client to the server-side and migrated a Scala-based application to a Spring Boot Java application.

Prior to their time at Digital Turbine, Ismail worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Arlington from January 2014 to August 2015. Ismail Zahidbhai mentored and tutored students in database systems and computer programming courses, created presentations for lectures, and supported student learning.

Earlier in their career, Ismail worked at CMC LTD as an Associate IT Engineer and later as an IT Engineer. Ismail Zahidbhai played a key role in ensuring the build of an easy access system for users to perform card transactions and business-related activities through the ItzCash electronic accounting system application. Ismail utilized frameworks like Spring and Hibernate to develop web applications and implemented business object methods in Java. Ismail Zahidbhai also managed daily processes and transitioned departments to paperless and computerized operations.

Ismail Zahidbhai Vandeliwala completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Engineering from Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya, Vidhyanagar, India from the years 2006 to 2010. Following that, they pursued a Masters Degree in Computer Sci-MS Non Thesis from The University of Texas at Arlington, between 2013 and 2015.
