Nick Ball

Nick Ball is a Senior Data Scientist at DigitalOcean since July 2023, following the acquisition of Paperspace, where Nick worked as a Freelance Data Scientist from November 2020 to July 2023. Prior to that, Nick held the position of Principal Data Scientist at Dotscience from September 2019 to May 2020, leading the development of an MLOps-focused data science platform. Nick's experience includes roles as Lead Data Scientist at Oracle, Principal Data Scientist at Infosys after the acquisition of Skytree, and Staff Data Scientist at Skytree itself, where significant contributions were made to product development and client projects. Early career included roles as an Assistant Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada and postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science in Astronomy, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Astronomy from the University of Sussex.
