Nick Silkey

Nick Silkey is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and product management. Currently serving as Senior Director of Growth Engineering at DigitalOcean since May 2018, Nick leads the Growth Engineering group and represents this group within the Chief Product Officer's Product Leadership Team. Prior roles at DigitalOcean include Director of Growth Engineering and Director of Product Engineering, where Nick contributed to significant staff growth and led initiatives in managed databases and the DigitalOcean Marketplace. Previously, Nick held engineering management positions at Rackspace and Yale University, focusing on cloud infrastructure and systems engineering. Nick began a professional journey at The University of Texas at Austin, holding various system administration roles while completing a BA in Government. Nick is further recognized for leadership in the Austin-area chapter of the League of Professional System Administrators.
