Katja Vermehren Freeman

Katja Vermehren Freeman has extensive work experience in the fields of audit, risk, and compliance. Katja is currently working as a Principal at Diligent, specializing in the public sector. Before joining Diligent, they worked as a Subject Matter Expert in audit, risk, and compliance for three months. Prior to this, they served at the City and County of Denver for ten years, starting as a Senior Performance Auditor and working their way up to Audit Director. At the Wyoming State Legislature, they worked as a Performance Evaluator for three years, and they began their professional career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Katja Vermehren Freeman has a diverse educational background. Katja received a Certificate in Audit Analytics from Rutgers University in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2003 and 2005. In 2000, they pursued an Environmental Law and Policy program at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Lastly, they studied Law at Freie Universität Berlin from 1992 to 1996.
