Abena Akomeah is currently the Director of Education Capital Region Health in the Emergency Department at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health. Previously, Abena has held roles as an Emergency Physician at University of Maryland Emergency Medicine and as a Clinical Study Coordinator at the National Institutes of Health. Abena completed their Doctor of Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences after earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The George Washington University. Abena also completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Carolinas Medical Center and a Master of Education in Health Professions at Johns Hopkins University School of Education. Abena is a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and is certified as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician.
