Marc S. Rickford

Marc S. Rickford, M.D., FACS, currently serves as the Medical Director for Bariatric Surgery at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health since February 2019. With extensive experience in surgical leadership, Rickford held the position of Chair of Surgery at Providence Hospital from January 2011 to January 2019 and was the Medical Director at Providence Bariatric Care Center during the same timeframe. As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since October 2013, Rickford has demonstrated a commitment to surgical excellence. Rickford's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Howard University, complemented by training at Providence Hospital and Howard University Hospital.
