Steven Hamlette MD,SFHM,FACP has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Steven is currently serving as the Regional Medical Director at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health. In 2020, they became the Principal Owner of their own company, Dr. Hamlette, Inc.

Prior to this, they held multiple roles at Adfinitas Health from 2008 to 2020, including Partner/Regional Director/Medical Director and various Regional Medical Director positions at different hospitals. Steven also served as the Medical Director at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute.

From 2011 to 2019, they worked as the Regional Medical Director at Bon Secours Mercy Health, Inc. Steven also had a role as the Regional Medical Director at MDICS (Physician Inpatient Care Specialists) from 2014 to 2017.

Earlier in their career, they were a Partner in a private hospitalist group called Acle, Visioli and Hamlette and served as the Chief of Medicine at Three Lower Counties Community Services Inc.

Dr. Steven Hamlette has an extensive education history. Steven obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Howard University College of Medicine. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Howard University College of Arts and Sciences, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry with Honors.

Dr. Hamlette then pursued further training in the field of medicine. Steven completed their Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital. Following this, they undertook a General Internal Medicine Fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

In addition to their medical education, Dr. Hamlette also pursued a Graduate Certificate in the Business of Medicine from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School.

Dr. Hamlette has obtained several certifications to further enhance their medical expertise. Steven is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine, a certification obtained from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Steven is also Certified in Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine, granted by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. Additionally, they hold the Diplomat in Internal Medicine certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hamlette has also completed the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course offered by the American Heart Association and the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course provided by the American College of Surgeons.
