Michael Lavigne

Michael Lavigne currently serves as the Acting Superintendent of Schools and Secretary for Evangelization and Pastoral Planning at the Diocese of Providence since February 2023. Prior to this, Michael held several leadership roles at the Archdiocese of Boston from July 2012 to January 2023, including Assistant Secretary for Evangelization and Discipleship and Director of the Office for Lifelong Faith Formation & Parish Support. Earlier experiences include serving as a Radio Host for The Good Catholic Life, Director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation at the Diocese of Portland, and teaching Religious Studies at Saint Raphael Academy. Michael's community involvement extends to positions such as School Committeeman for the City of Woonsocket and Youth Ministry Coordinator at various parishes. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Theology from Providence College and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public & Professional Communication from Rhode Island College.
