Fr. Richard Vila has a diverse professional background in healthcare and religious services, currently serving as a Community Member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Hackensack Meridian Health since April 2019, where responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring biomedical research involving human subjects. In addition, Fr. Richard has been involved with Tulong sa Kapwa Surgical Mission since January 2008 as a Surgical Technician and Chaplain, providing free surgeries to those in need in the Philippines. Since May 2002, Fr. Richard has held various roles within the Diocese of Trenton, including Pastor, Chaplain, Church Administrator, and Parochial Vicar. Earlier experience includes nursing roles at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System from June 1989 to April 2002. Fr. Richard's education includes a Master of Divinity in Theology from Mount St. Mary's University and multiple nursing degrees from institutions such as Muhlenberg Harold B & Dorothy A Snyder Schools and Rutgers University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
