Diplo works to strengthen the meaningful participation of all stakeholders in diplomatic practice and international relations. We seek to:

* Increase the power of small and developing states to influence their own futures and development
* Increase international accountability and inclusivity
* Increase the legitimacy of international policy making
* Improve global governance and international policy development

DIPLO does this by:

* Providing capacity development programmes in areas such as climate change and Internet governance
* Using and developing tools for e-participation in global governance, including remote participation in international meetings and social media for global negotiations
* Training officials (including diplomats and others involved in international relations) from small and developing countries
* Providing specialised and effective academic programmes for professional diplomats seeking cost-effective but high-quality training in both traditional and contemporary diplomacy topics
* Strengthening participation of non-state actors - including those from academia and civil society - in international relations and policy processes.

DiploFoundation is a non-profit organisation based in Malta, with offices in Geneva and Belgrade. In June 2006, Diplo was granted Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The Education and Training team at DiploFoundation is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing a range of educational and professional development programs aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of diplomats and officials from small and developing countries. This includes creating both traditional and online courses covering contemporary topics in diplomacy, international relations, and global governance, as well as facilitating e-participation in global policy-making processes. The team works to ensure these programs are accessible, high-quality, and impactful, thereby contributing to more inclusive and effective international policy development.
