Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith, CEP, currently serves as a Senior Energy Strategist at NRG Energy since January 2021, following the acquisition of Direct Energy. Prior to this role, Melissa held positions at Direct Energy Business, including Senior Energy Advisor, where responsibilities involved assisting large commercial and industrial customers across eastern PJM markets in meeting budgetary goals and developing purchasing strategies. Previous experience includes roles as a Fleet Card Sales Representative at Guttman Energy Fuels Division and a Logistics Coordinator at PLS Logistics Services. Early career experiences included internships in marketing and sales as well as research assistance at Penn State University. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Penn State University in 2013.
