Sjoerd Verhagen

Sjoerd Verhagen is an accomplished data scientist with extensive experience in operations research and data analysis. Currently serving as Lead Data Scientist at Direct Line Group, Sjoerd previously held the role of Senior Data Scientist at the same company and Senior Operations Research Scientist at Amazon Logistics, where responsibilities included optimizing the EU last-mile delivery network. Sjoerd's career began at Vattenfall Energy Trading GmbH as an Operations Research Analyst, focusing on power plant dispatch optimization, after which a management graduation scheme at Nuon N.V. showcased skills in valuation and business analysis, particularly improving prediction model accuracy. Sjoerd attained both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Physics from Radboud University.
