Yohei Ishii has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Yohei started their career in 2002 as an Equity Research Analyst at Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. Yohei then moved to Square Enix, Inc. in 2005 as Director, Business Development & Strategic Affairs. In 2007, they became Vice President, Business Development at Live Gamer, Inc. and in 2009 they joined CCP as Vice President, Business Development. In 2013, they founded TURBO Studios. In 2014, they became Co-Founder of Directive Games. In 2019, they were appointed as Head of Games Venture Capital & Startups BD at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2021, they joined Andreessen Horowitz as Partner - Consumer / Games Investment and in 2022 they became Principal at Makers Fund.
Yohei Ishii completed Post Graduate Studies in Accounting and Finance at Columbia University from 2001 to 2002. Prior to that, they obtained a BS in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1999 to 2001.
